Grocery ads

I do most of my grocery shopping at Meijer. For the last two weeks, their grocery ad has been really sparse. First of all, they changed the format from the full-sized pages to the half-sized pages so it is not so obvious that there is less stuff being advertised. Second, the items are spaced farther apart, and some are pictures of the food rather than the package. (What's that about?) Third, they are using ad space, at least one whole page plus other items interspersed, to advertise their everyday low prices rather than stuff that is on sale. How chintzy is that?

Do these companies think that the consumers don't notice? Well I notice! Meijer? Busted!!!
